As the title says, I've got an old Apple G5 power mac (tower) that is pretty much useless and some hardware is failing. Anyway, I would like to completely revamp it into a pretty decent computer. I would like to take out the ancient G5 processors and put in either [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] or [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] CPU inside it. I realize that the apple Logic board would be no good with either processor so I was thinking about using [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] motherboard. Basically, I need to know if this is even possible to use the remaining parts from the mac with the new processor and mobo. Also, would the Radeon 3000 card (part of the mobo) be better than the one already in the apple? Or is it possible to replace the onboard Video card with a better one?
Thanks for any help in advance!

if you actually want to have a good pc your going to end up replacing everything so you might aswell get that through your head right now, your power supply will need upgrading your case defiantly needs a upgrade badly and for graphics card please atleast get a radeon 6870 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] 169$

Rule 1. When building computers, never try to be a cheap arse you will end up with garbage in the end,so save up money and build a completely new PC because I guarantee in a month or so you will regret not forking out the extra money.

The TTG community has good ideas for building pc`s just tell us a budget and we can get the best performance-price ratio.
