It does work. That's the code for a stock SMG, look at the parts. The thing is nobody figured out how to make it insanely powerful like the shotgun (As far as I know).

That is the real code for the SMG; look at the itemgrade, weapon class, and material (as a side note, unless the gun is a real generic stock weapon the Stock material WILL CAUSE THE GUN TO DISAPPEAR FOR YOUR INVENTORY). The thing is, the only reason that the sniper, shotgun, and assault rifle do what they do is because of a glitch in the game that causes the gun to be set to level 0 regardless of what level the real gun is. This does not apply to the combat rifle, revolver, or SMG and therefore the level does not get set to 0.

A little bit of advice if you want to try and figure out how to set the level to 0: When you take a look at the stock sniper rifle, you see that the weapon class is not a sniper but the scorpio turret for the soldier. There may be a similar connection with the SMG.
