Ok, so I want to learn to make minecraft mods ! I have no I dea where to start, If anyone could link me to somewhere were they learnt java or how to make mods or where they think the best and easiest place to learn java or modding, I would be extremely appreciative !

best plan is to wait for 1.2 that comes out tomorrow, then get the mcp and eclipse. i suggest learning java first but theres good tutorials on youtube etc.

First off a good place to learn Java would be the internet of course! You will find hundreds if not thousands of tutorials relating to Java.

RDCA has some good tutorials on TheTechGame relating to Java which can be find in this thread:

On Youtube there are also some basic tutorials for creating basic Minecraft mods. Here is one for example:

But before you start creating a mod for Minecraft you will need the following:
Java JRE and JDK - Link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Minecraft Coder Pack - Latest Version - Link : http://mcp.ocean-labs.de/index.php/MCP_Releases

Programming Software - Eclipse - Link: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/


Please note you do not necessarily need Eclipse; other programs can also be used which support Java.



Well that is some of the basics from me. If you are comfortable creating a basic mod, try something advanced. Maybe ask other mod creators for tips and support.
