So I have an elite 360 i believe. It will occasionally boot with e74 but after 3-6 times it turns on fine and will play games for hours on end. Only thing thats also weird is there are little black dots on the screen with shooter games like CoD. The AV cables are brand new so I know its not them....

Is there anyway to fix this without knowing a ton about the console? I have tried and failed doing the x-clamp fix on another rrod box I had so I am familiar with how they come apart and some of the terminology...

"E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU." - TTG_FatalX

Is my chip effed? Or can i put fresh thermal paste on and it will be all better... LOL

Any help is appreciated, and if this has been covered before I apologize.

Thank You,

Paul
