THIS IF FOR XBOX 20GB 60GB AND ELITE ONLY
I am posting this because I had real trouble with it myself, and after searching the internet for ages i finally found this solution, and i only found (at the time) one video of it.
So basically the open tray error is when you put a disc into your xbox, its spins it round saying 'reading disc' and then says 'open tray' again.
This often happens after moving your xbox.
This happens because the laser inside the disc drive has gone so far on its tracks that it is no longer beneath the disc in the drive, so cannot recognise that there is a disc present.
The fix this problem you must open your xbox. The video i used to show me how :
bear in mind that once you break the seal opening your xbox it will no longer be under warranty
then once inside you must open the disc drive and push the laser back into the 'disc area' so it can read them once more as shown in this video :
then put your xbox back together again I hope this helps someone out because I could have done with something like this when I had this problem
