I'm just going to bump up my post because people don't seem to be getting the point of the OP.

This is a $150 headphone. ($100 refurbished) Sure, it's not as pretty, but I've literally been able to club people with one of these. Can you do that with Beats?

The point is that Monster uses shoddy materials in a product that costs $300. The Beyerdynamics I used as an example have a headband that's made of solid aluminum and still manage to make a profit. The Beats use a headband made of brittle plastic. They didn't even use good plastic! What does that tell you?

Did you run them over with a car or something?

Every time I've been to bestbuy looking at the headphones, the beats on display are always broke.

Beats are not bad people just don't take care of them.
