Today i'm going to be showing you many ways to drastically reduce in Lag in Minecraft with OS windows 7 or Windows Vista.

Step 1 : Enter the start menu and search for "Disk Cleanup". Start it and wait a couple of minutes it will then show files which can be deleted to gain more memory. Check all of the options as none of them will harm your computer by deleting them. This will free disk space.

Step 2 : Enter the start menu and search for " Disk Defragmenter" start it and then analyze the Drive you want defragementate. Once the anylazing is complete click on "Defragement this disk". This process may take a long time so be patient.

Tip: It will run faster if less windows are open.

Step 3 : Click on your battery icon and change the mode to "high performance" this will use your battery quicker but will reduce lag.

Step 4 : Click on the Start menu and right click on "Computer" and then select properties. After that select "Advanced System Settings" and continue to "Advanced">>"Performance".Then check the box which says "Adjust for best performance", it will revert your PC to a Windows 98 look but to reset back to normal do the same but select " let windows decide what is best for my computer".

Step 5 :Virtual memory(paging file). Follow the same steps as step 4 but when you reach the tab where you change the PC for best performance select the tab next to it called "Advanced", then go to "virtual memory" and select where is says "change" then uncheck the first box then put in a number like "4024" which means that you are 4GB of hard drive space onto your paging file, thus speeding up minecraft as virtual memory is what your computer uses as if it were "RAM" but still speeds up your computer.

Step 6: Finally when starting minecraft press "ctrl, alt, delete" at the same time then select task manager and right click on "Minecraft.exe" and select go to process, after this right click the process which will be "javjaw.exe" or similar to that and select "set priority" then to "high" then right click on javjaw.exe again and click on set affinity and check "all processors".

Hopefully this has worked for anyone who is reading as it worked for me.
