Which is 5 GoW3 Events, which you can see on the Calender in-game, it will take a few more weeks to have 5 done though.

Yeah the first hour of gow3, every match counted towards an event.

So some people already have it.

Those events were actually from the Beta. I got Gears 3 an hour before my Gamestop started selling copies for the midnight release. ( So 11:00 PM ), and I played online straight away. However, my Beta stuff didn't carry over, however my friends Beta stuff carried over and since they had been playing since the Dev and friends version of the beta they had loads of events played.
