I am going to make a series of stories and videos on Zombie Survival, but I figured i would start here. I am going to develop a guide on how to survive a zombie/similar outbreak. I will make it as realistic as I possibly can, although zombies aren't real. This guide will feature almost everything there is about zombies/similar.
Part 1: Zombie History
Zombies are not what we make them out to be a real zombie would basically be a possed person or a man eating demon for example. In modern terms a zombie is a person who has the "fever" or virus, in witch case may actually in most cases be curabble, so this means the modern zombie is not really a zombie at all. A zombie today would be "The Infected". Now today we normally see zombies as four different types(listed):

TYPE 1: Slow, dumb, and doesn't feel pain so it can lock it's jaws much easier than the average person. This is normally from disease, witch could damage brain cells, or change your state of being, when you can't feel pain you are always hungery, but it never bothers you.
TYPE 2: Fast, retarded, and may or may not feel pain. These zombie normally are from disease as well, so there is not much to say. The disease/virus will normlay stimulate adrenaline, and cause brain damage (Reatrdedness, and no feeling).
TYPE 3: Fast, may have some instainct, and probaoly doesn't feel pain. These are the second worse, they have some mental issues, but will hunt. They have had some brain damage, but still remain stable enough to sometimes outsmart the average person. Disease/virus are main cause as stated in the above types.
TYPE 4: Normally not the one you see or hear about, these are the worst. These zombies are possesed or crazy, from an event such as Armogeddon. They normally are very powerfull, smart, and mean. They are most likely blood thirsty or just want to kill all of mankind.

Now that you know the main kinds of zombies, I can tell you startegies on how to survive and etc.. There may be other types, but those are the typical ones.

Part 2: The Beginning of The Outbreak
Once you find out the main things you will want to think of are most likely(listed):

Weapon?,
Survivors?,
Transport?,
EVACUATION?

Those will most likely be obsolete very soon and will likely get you infected or killed.
You will want to act fast, get only a small amount of survivors friends, familly, and loved ones. You don't want an army as it may be hard to control them and one of them might do something stupid.
You only want to worry about one type of weapon depending on the zombie type some zombies may infect you by a small drop of blood others will have to bite or scratch you. either way you should wear eye and mouth protection at almost all times. If you want something easy to find, but a little more risky go for melee weapons, you should probably get something to decapitate or injure there brain, in most cases. You will most likely find longer blades and larger less heavy weapons such as bats and katanas. In some cases you can get a hold of a firearm, but they are loud and will attract zombies, so you should stick with a crossbow or pellet gun and if possible a silencer. I know some of this may be EXTREMELY hard or impossible to get, but it could help if you have the chance.
Now shelter, this could also go before weapons, but that's up to you, it's all up to you. You can bend the rules the world is ending do whatever you want, sometimes you have to be a hero, sometimes you have to do what it takes to move one, just be careful. You will need a place away from a big town I would not recommend trying for the top stay of a skyscraper in New York, because if you get trapped you might just be screwed. I would go somewhere easy to access, yet out of sight, and near a small town. You will want to have a way to get fresh air though, this may be tough, but you should be able find somewhere. Once you have a place you need barricades at vulnerable spots, don't rely on an electric fence or something, you need something hard to get threw or something high up that cant be climbed. You will aslo want a heat source fire, once the end comes there won't always be electricity.
EVACUATION!! You only try and evacuate if you know for certain it will work, going into a crowd of people you don't know could be dangerous. There may be zombies near, people might be going nuts and start killing each other of the past, but now is the future your enemies are your friends, if they have a skill that can help.
Food and water is a most have. You will want a way to get both, witch one day might be impossible I hate to say.. You need a good water supply and way to replenish or filter it. You will also need food, just don't eat a zombie, you never know what might happen. Your shelter should be close to a small town. You should go raid a store that has food, be careful don't go alone, better to loose one or two then wind up having no-one able to get food.
In most cases, you might not loose anyone, but you never know..
At some point you will need your truck or some means of transportation at some point witch means gasoline, but careful getting it though, don't blow up your selves, the gas, and the vehicle....
