I'm planning to get one just in case, to be safe, but, where can i connect the other side of it? The clip part?

Connect it to a metal surface, I believe.

I just touch the metal part of my case that is taken off of my computer to diffuse any static electricity I have when I'm working with hardware.

Most people connect it to the back of their case. I don't use one personally - I use the same method as stated above.
