I noticed that if you buy minecraft this weekend you get a free gift code to give a friend. I was wondering how the gift code works. Does it expire and after how long? Can you send it to your self and then just tell it to your friend? Can you send it to the same email you sign up with? If you know about them then can you help me because I want to know before I buy. Thanks

When you buy the game a gift code will appear on your profile:

There you should see a code that you can give to anyone of your choice. To reedem the code they must sign in to their minecraft account and go to:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Just enter the code and they now also own minecraft!
