Modern Warfare 3 will be incredibly hard to mod.

Look at the way Black Ops is, and how it's nearly impossible to mod.
Infinity Ward, will not make the same mistake they did with Modern Warfare
2, and Call of Duty 4. Sure it may be possible for the first several months
but they'll be taking drastic steps to keep modding offline, and out of their
public lobbies. Of course any game can be modded, but not with hotfixes/patches.

FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Lay of the caps bro...
and blackops is moddable people just dont know how

I can't believe the stupidity of your posts

The game has been out for almost a year now, don't you think if there is a way to mod Black Ops that they would have found it MONTHS ago?

This is one of Eatons posts from about 45 mins ago on the reasons why people can't mod black ops:

Eaton wrote 1. Account ban or profile ban from online multiplayer. Usually followed by an actual profile or console ban.

2. Most of the good client dvars are cheat/write protected.

3. Everyone who is capable of doing them for people has been CD'd by Treyarch.

A CD is a Cease and Desist letter which means if they don't stop doing what the letter is for then the company will take legal action against that person. So even if these people know how to mod Black Ops they will just get taken to court.

Wow, interesting indeed. I didn't think that they would go to court. Thanks for the info, helps back up my opinion.

Robert bowling reported that they are going to be using the same technique they used for mw2's tu7 update. Thus the jtag cant connect to a retail if it is modded. Sure we can pass on infections such as game types, speed, and timescale. However, we will not be able to get infections. Possibly at the beginning gpd's may be able to contain binds, but after what happened with black ops, i highly doubt it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game was a bit more susceptible to mods then B.O. Not that IW won't attempt to put the same security protocols in place that 3arch has, but they just won't act as quickly or harshly against offenders. They just don't put as much credence into the upkeep of their game as 3arch has. This alone will be the difference, things will slip past them and even getting the hot fixes implemented will take this group a lot more time then what we have seen in B.O.

MW3 may be moddable, but even if it is I'm sure Infinity Ward will be sure to patch the mods asap or ban anyone who partakes in modding.

people say it going to be un modable so i
made a post that is my point

Really? Any game is moddable? What about Black Ops? Sure you can mod offline but online it's impossible.

MW3 is going to be the same.
When black ops came out you could get 15th from a gpd. Mw3 is gonna be the same when it comes out. probably not later but the same at first.
