Diablo 4 Metacritic User Scores Plummet Following Latest Patch

3.8
Diablo 4 players aren’t happy with the latest patch for the action RPG, which nerfed several key aspects of the game, from stats like critical damage and vulnerable damage to XP garnered from higher-level monsters. Since user reviews aren’t a thing on Battle.net, fans have taken to review-bombing the user scores on Metacritic.

On PS5 and PC, the user review score has dropped to 2.5 and 2.8, while the Xbox Series X/S version sits at a 4.2 score. Even the Xbox One and PS4 versions aren’t safe, with the former having a 4.4 user review score and the latter at 4.0. One could argue that some are trolling, but there’s plenty of dissatisfaction on the official forums and Diablo 4 subreddit.

Season of the Malignant starts on July 20th at 10 AM PDT, but the development team is hosting a Campfire Chat on July 21st to discuss the changes. It also confirmed the removal of level requirements for World Tiers 3 and 4 while noting the reduced drop rate of Aberrant Cinders in Helltides is due to a bug addressed in the next hotfix. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates.
