The news comes on the heels of the Sonic and all Characters Twitter page predicting on April 5 that the Spin Dash move would be making its way to the game. In a follow-up, the same account on Sunday shared images that show Sonic Team Director Morio Kishimoto responding and confirming the rumors. "Oh my God, you found out !" the response, translated from Japanese, reads. It goes on to say that Sonic Team had intended to include the little blue hedgehog's classic spin move in the game's first update, which released in late March, but the developers didn't feel satisfied with their progress, and the move was temporarily shelved, "so we're improving the degree of perfection for the second update."

On his own Twitter page, Kishimoto has also somewhat confirmed a second rumor from the same source, this one regarding the development of a Chao Garden coming to the game at some point, though it seems like fans might have to wait for a sequel to actually get to experience it. Responding to a fan's question regarding the possibility of a Chao Garden coming to Sonic Frontiers, he confirmed that it's been on his mind and he thinks it would fit well into the theme of Sonic Frontiers, though he seemed to indicate that the scale of such a venture would be restrictive for just an update. "This is a part that I thought about many times during the production of the main story," he stated. "It is an attractive item that goes very well with the open zone. It's difficult with the scale of the update, but I also hope that there will be a chance to create an environment that we can actively consider in the next game."
Kishimoto has made a point of clarifying that the decision to include updates for the game was a direct result of Sonic Team paying attention to its fans. "After listening to everyone's stories, I realized that this game can be made more interesting without waiting for the next game," he stated in a post made on March 23.

Sonic Frontiers has been a critical success for Sega and Sonic Team — DualShockers gave it a very good 8/10 score — since it debuted in November of last year. The first of three planned free updates included a 53-track jukebox as well as a photo mode and new challenges. According to a content roadmap, the second update, which does not yet have a solid launch date, will also add a Sonic's Birthday event, Open Zone Challenge, and New Coco, in addition to the recently confirmed Spin Dash.
