According to a recent report from Digitimes, upstream component suppliers (suppliers making specific components separately ordered from mass manufacturers) believe that Nintendo NX will begin shipping in the second quarter of 2016 (April – July). While Nintendo is targeting 20 million units to be shipped in 2016, numbers from the upstream suppliers lead them to believe the first run will only consist of 10-12 million units. While this number seems small compared to PlayStation 4’s predicted 18 million unit 2016 shipment, keep in mind that the Wii U (now three years old) is pushing on 11 million units sold.
Additionally, the report confirms that Foxconn will be the contract manufacturer of the device — not a surprise considering they are also responsible for manufacturing the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U. There has been no official comment from Nintendo or Foxconn regarding these numbers and timetables.
All I'm hoping for is the system to not have a gimmicky controller or feature. I know it's Nintendo's thing to constantly be innovative, but they lost me at the WiiU, it just does not have a good controller.
I'm liking this, I'm starting to wonder if the reason why Zelda-U Was delayed was to maybe push it out on the new Console. hopefully not but I will be purchasing this no matter what Nintendo has always been one of my favourite past-time console companies to like.
