The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, Dead Island Riptide, and Diablo III were among the games NeoGAF and Reddit users claimed had surfaced on the PS4 store. They are all marked as free, full games for PS3. Users report that they can view the games' listings, images, trailers, and ratings, but cannot attempt to add them to their accounts.
Some commenters claimed that several of the listed games are also in PlayStation Now's closed beta program, indicating that this might be related to a wider release for the streaming game service.
PlayStation Now is colloquially referred to as "a games Netflix"; the service grants users access to various PlayStation games from years past and previous console generations. Those games are initially playable on PS3, with support for Vita, PS4, tablet devices and Sony Bravia TVs also planned.
A purported list of games being tested on PlayStation Now emerged in April, along with claims of improved load times. A rentable version of Catherine for PS3 was spotted on the marketplace in March, lining up with a feature previously teased for PlayStation Now.
We've asked Sony why the PS3 games emerged on the new system's store and will update this article with any comment.
