Fallout Players Want To See Snow Storms In Bethesda’s Next Wasteland

4.1
As Amazon Prime's Fallout TV show gathers hordes of new fans to the franchise, it seems as though players will still have quite a bit of time to wait before hopping into the next Wasteland adventure. Bethesda's next Fallout product won't begin until after Elder Scrolls 6, with Todd Howard's main priority being the Skyrim sequel coupled with Starfield updates. This is still good news for space lovers and fantasy goers.

Even though it doesn't look like we'll be getting any concept ideas around what Fallout 5 will look like for a long time, that hasn't stopped players from daydreaming about what they would like to see in the next installment.

When it comes to Fallout's aesthetics, its barren, usually sandy, environments have taken inspiration from films like Forbidden Planet, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Blade Runner, marrying the style of Art Deco and the post-apocalypse with incredible accuracy. As players' minds begin to wonder about where Bethesda could take Fallout 5's environments next, its dynamic weather is high on the list of elements Wasteland lovers desire most.

In Fallout 4, compared to the previous games, the weather system has a much more real-time navigation vibe going on where its world goes from blue skies and fog to overcast rain showers, sometimes even with a bit of thunder thrown in. When it comes to dreams of Fallout 5, players have a few ideas of their own that they would like to see included regarding its weather system for an even more immersive experience than ever before.

In a post on Twitter/X, Fallout Films, an account that highlights news, memes and pure love for the franchise, asked its followers whether snow should be added to future Fallout titles, more specifically snow storms. Many of the replies loved the idea that snow could play a major part in the next installment of Fallout, with many also requesting that seasonal weather should be included since the technology is now so advanced that it would be an easy feature to add in.

"I'd love to see permanent snow caps, as well as seasonal snowstorms—actually, seasonal weather would be cool if they could figure out a way to advance the story past Reclamation (groundhog) Day" stated @TheoryPhd. "After playing a ton of all the metro games I will admit Fallout in the snow be cool, especially if they keep survival mode" replied @Normandy19981 as user @Snowgard chimed in with, "I think a game In the snow could work. They could call it Fallout: Nuclear Winter."

Even though there are current mods available to create these snowy scenes in Fallout 4, it would be incredible to see Bethesda go down this route when it comes to implementing this type of dynamic weather system for its future title to blow the socks off the rest. We've already seen snowy terrain in Mt Charleston in New Vegas and the Operation Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3, so it's not something completely alien to the developers and, with technology getting more advanced every year, by the time Fallout 5 comes out, it would be a prime candidate for Bethesda to show off some of the best terrain seen in any Fallout game yet.
