Exactly how this escalation plays out is still unclear – as is the exact release date of this change – but this news should be music to the ears of Rainbow Six Siege players who are tired of losing ranked matches and MMR to rage-quitting teammates.
It’s not the only change Ubisoft has planned to target player behaviour, as they also have a fix coming for reverse friendly-fire. This change is intended to stop groups of players from picking on individuals on their team spreading out damage among themselves to avoid activating reverse friendly-fire. Now, reverse friendly-fire will activate across the whole group of players, which should help reduce toxicity.
One more fix Ubisoft has planned to improve player behaviour is that players will automatically drop the defuser on spawn if they are inactive during the preparation phase, which means players will not need to kill their teammates in order to get the defuser off them.
The ‘player behaviour’ cell was created following the Six Invitational 2019 in Montreal, so it’s good to see Ubisoft keeping the playerbase abreast of the team’s progress.
