I'm wondering if anyone here runs track. IMO its a underrated sport because its non contact. Pretty competitive though. I've been running for 4 years, and gonna be my 5th this spring. I run the sprints, some distance, and long jump. I also like Cross Country. Does anyone here run competitively? Whats your opinion on running?

I ran Track and Field all through High School, and I really loved it. It's probably the most mental sport I can think of, on top of being physically demanding. It kind of sucked practice wise, and being tired and sweaty through 90% of my practices (Ladieeees ), but looking back at it, I really loved the sport.

400m open, best race.

I ran Cross Country all throughout high school. I only did long distance, 5k during the fall which was one of the best choices of my life. I am now in college and even though I no longer run competitively, I still run to keep in shape.

It is one of the most underrated sports because people tend to ignore it and give baseball, lacrosse and football jocks the credit. The truth is, (I played varsity baseball as well) and compared with Cross Country the workouts were a joke. If I took any of those kids and put them in my spot on the starting line, I could bet they couldn't get 1/4 of the way through the race without quitting.
