So recently these guys being paid to advertise this crap cheap internet service comes knocking on my house.

*Le me knowing they are crap company because they pay people to advertise says no*

Meanwhile my parents (Completely have no knowledge of how a computer works) agree to try a 30 day of it.
All because the unintelligent people of CenturyLink explain how their crap service and terrible quality internet (Here's the best part) is "better than Comcast" (WHICH IS WHAT I HAD CURRENTLY AND IS SWITCHING BACK TO)

Comcast (only good internet available in my area) -> 7 MB/s
CenturyLink (Internet Explorer with a side of 2001 Dial-up) -> Barely reaching 1 MB/s

I am sick of these companies paying people to give out false information.

By the way it was the CenturyLink Prism, which was supposed to be "All that good"

All in all, I AM RELIEVED THAT I DID NOT CANCEL COMCAST. ALSO RELIEVED IT WAS A 30 TRIAL.

/Rant over.

Surely that's false advertising, claiming you provide a better service than a competitor when you actually don't?

I had the same problem when I switched off Time Warner to frontier (Not my choice) We switched back to time warner after me not being able to play games for 2 months because of having 400 ping while playing. Even with Direct Connect.

Time Warner: 50MB/s
Frontier: 0.50Mb/s (1,if its a sunny day)

No, but when the company promises me 10 MB/s download and I only get 1 with my device being the only one active at the moment is true false advertisement.

This has always been something that annoyed me and still does. However, I would love to have even 1MB internet at my house as the ONLY thing I can get at my house is Hues Net...So, we have no internet other than my mobile devices at home.

I actually worked for CL for a few months.
In the "billing department".

People would call in complaint their bil was to high and I had to shove sales shpeels down their throats.
it was horrible.
CL is a horrible company, they don't give a shit about their customers at all.

chances are they are promising megabit and what you are getting is read in megabytes. A megabit is 1/8 of a megabyte so what you are saying sounds about right.
