Bought a 1984 limited edition rx7 with a JDM 13b RESI. Not running but its a project with myself and my dad.
It needs some work but shouldn't be too long till its running (hopefully) as it does turn over and seems to have good compression in the rotors.
Will be updating as regularly as possible with my progress on it.
Update: Finally got it started, here is a video (warning vertical video D: )
2 photos I took when I got it home:
22/09/14 update:
Discovered it needs a new engine mount and the starter motor needs fixing as it is not spinning fast enough. Should be fixed within a couple days. Will replace both engine mounts just to be on the safe side.
Did some general cleaning and a service.
23/09/14 update:
Replaced both engine mounts and discovered it needs a new oil sump, although that isn't a current problem as it is only leaking a little bit and will be replaced once everything is in running order.
took out the 2 front seats, getting ready to sort out the mess of wires in the engine bay from previous owner running new wires and not removing the old ones. Wires are way too long as well and just needs general tidying up.
29/09/2014 update:
Removed back seats and cleaned up abit. Got new coil packs.
And finally got it started. See video at top of thread.

Never said anything about the body. Rotary engines break down a lot and cause people to empty there wallet. If his plans to go sideways with it he better have a lot of money.

I didn't say you said anything about the body..It was a joke. And not all rotary engines are bad. If he doesn't abuse his car he should be fine.

Actually rotary motors need to be ripped on once in awhile to clean all the carbon out of them.

lil update: did a service. New oil and new fuel. Tried to start it up but it needs its starter motor fixed as it isn't spinning fast enough. My dad knows and auto electrician that reckons he can fix it.
Not sure if I should keep its bronzey colour and go back to a silver.

Any engine does when you let it warm up. Normal thing, just not a lot of people do it.
