Alright, so currently, my console to me, is broken.

I was playing GTA when suddenly, my video turned off. It just showed the screen that is on when the console isn't on.

MY Xbox is connected to my Roxio GameCap HD Pro, which goes into the back of my TV and console, goes into the device, then plugs into my laptop. I have to keep the laptop on in order to play/see the game.

I don't know what to do. I've tried using the normal video/audio cables, but to no avail. I'm seriously debating on getting a new console or not.

Any help? I'll give 50 Rep?

Have you tried using your Xbox without your capture card hooked up? I would do that and see if it still happens.

It also could be your TV so I would try using different HDMI inputs and a entirely different TV.

Yeah, however, I'm not exactly sure where the yellow plug goes. I've plugged it into every other one (except where the red and whit ones go) but id doesn't help.

When the red/white plugs are in, I only here the sound, and can't see it.

That could easily be your issue.

The yellow cable is used for video while the red and white are used for audio.

Well, I've plugged them in the right holes, and still no results.

I guess it's either time to throw out a new TV, or a console.

Does the tip of the yellow cord still have the metal tip on it cause sometimes the metal tip comes off n then it doesn't work any more this has happen to me before multiple times to me without knowing about this problem it's hard to find out about it cause the the little piece that goes into the tv is there but just the little metal cap fell off so it makes that part not work so try looking at the tips if that's the case it's cheaper n better to buy new one at local game store they cost about 10-20$ better then buying a new tv or cable
