Synopsis
As the King of Iolcus, Jason had everythinga prosperous kingdom, the respect of his peers, and a beautiful fianc. When she was killed on their wedding day, he vowed to do anything to restore her life. Now, in order to accomplish this heroic feat Jason must seek out the Golden Fleece -- and with the help of Greek mythology's greatest heroes -- set sail on the most epic voyage of all. A grand scale Action/RPG, Rise of the Argonauts immerses players in a gladiatorial adventure set in the vibrant and powerful world of Ancient Greece brought to life.

Gameplay
This game has a very nice professional looking intro scene, but after that it all goes pear shaped. The graphics are very shoddy, but more on them later. It starts out as what I can guess is a wedding scene until an enemy kills the bride in the middle of the ceremony. This is all very badly scripted for me, I mean. How did they gain access to the middle of the castle without being noticed, did they have Ninja's back then? After all this happens, you get that play for yourself and you have to fight your way out of the castle looking for the leader that shot the bride with an arrow. Now, this game is very slow to say the least, all the fights are very limited to what you can do, it has invisible barriers everywhere, so you can't run away to gain some health when you've taken a hit. I hate games that limit you to the amount of space you can use in a fight as it makes it seem badly made.

Graphics
At first, when i saw the intro scene i thought they would be okay. But i was wrong, all the walls were moving and all the edges of the bowls and smaller things had edges like staircases, so much screen flickering made me giddy. There isn't even a way to stop it, or that i found anyhow. But on to the good parts, the character models are very detailed with great body structure, the uniform is also of very high detail. The textures overall weren't that bad, but the flickering ruined it for me really as i tried not to look at them for to long. The textures are all 3D and of average quality with nice color depth to them. The transitions from dark to light are also very smooth. The last bit is the navigational panels, they have really nice, clean backgrounds to them to give a sort of hovering effect, i like it. The UI is also very high quality, all the buttons look HD along with the custom pointer.

Controls
The controls are pretty standard for any third person game, they have a nice layout making them east to learn and use. If they aren't to your liking, you can use the button mapper found in "Options" menu. I did have to change a few things around, but it was very fast and easy to do as the layout is perfect. You can use a controller with this game to help all the console gamers out or if you just like to use a controller instead of the usual mouse and keyboard. You need practice to get the controls right every time, it took me about 30 minutes to know them off by heart, so it wasn't to bad really.
