I have an Xbox 360 slim 4gb. I hit the power button, it beeps and turns green
(fan turns on) then "everything powers off (a second later) No audio/video.
Wondering in anyone else has experienced this problem and may know what the cause
is. Its really got me scratching my head as to why it would do this. Ive checked
the power supply of course, usb ports, capacitors........

any help would be greatly appreciated

Does it have a hard drive in it? If you already checked the usb ports, capacitors etc then it might have something to do with the thermal paste or power supply, thats all I can think of that might be the problem.

Does it beep again like you turned it off? Could be you damaged the ribbon cable, has happened to me before.

Could be the powerbrick but I remember someone saying that it was the touch sensor cable.

i checked power supply, and it had a 250GB external hard drive. does the same thing with it in or out. i also removed the 4gb internal memory and same results.

Also took the face place off and hooked wired controller to it and same results.

It beeps on but doesnt beep off. justs cuts out completely.

Power brick turns green for the half of a second that it is on then goes by to standby when it shuts off

Try unplugging the faceplate ribbon cable and turning it on with the controller if you havent already.

EDIT: Nvm, ill look into other possible problems, but it seems that youve tried everything.

thanks. if you come up with something let me know because ive searched everywhere it seems, and no one has a cause of this problem. I was just hoping someone on here may something that other people dont know.

And also, this console was never opened or messed with before i obtained it. Real clean inside and out. Had a game in the drive also. So it happened all of a sudden im guessing

Might have been playing and got struck by a power outage? All I could think of, might have fried something on the board...
