Match ended, then it disconnected me from EA servers then I restarted my Xbox, tried to go back on and it said "FIFA 14 needs an update"...

Don't understand the question/problem. It seems like you simply need to download the update for it. I don't play xbox much, so really don't know how to do that, but I'm guessing that's what you need to do. Try asking on the xbox.com forums.
