Ok first off, im a huge fallout fan, I can play all the fallouts on max settings up to 3. I can play fallout 3 and New vegas but it tends to slow down alot and it tends to stutter. I Was wondering my computer has 2 ram slots that are currently have 2x2GB DDR2 667 MHz, (PC2-5300) modules. It says that I can have up to "Expandable to: 8 GB (4 DDR2 DIMM slots - 2 DIMMs available)" Even though it dosent say it can i upgrade it to 2x4 DDR3 Modules at around 1600MHz or can my computer not handle it. All i need to know though is what do i need to make fallout 3 and fallout new vegas run smoother. I don't care about ghrapics as im a console type guy, that prefers his open world games on pc. I just want to know what do i need to upgrade as i cant get a new pc at the moment.
Here are the rest of my Specs incase i need to upgrade something else
Processor:AMD Phenom 9100e, 64-bit quad core processorOperates at 1.8 GHz 2 MB L2 cache (4 512 K) 3200 MHz system bus
Chipset:AMD 780G
Harddrive: 640 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA II hard drive
Video:Integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics
Up to 256 MB shared video memory
And the rest are here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
So if i can upgrade my computer to make fallout run better please tell me if not i can deal with it till i get a new better one.
and the reason i have this computer is i bought it a long time ago when i use to still play mmo's online and battlefield 2142.
Heres some pics i took last night before i gave up on cleaning it out.

The difficulty here lies with the fact that we're talking about a pre built, and quite an old one at that. I would say go for getting two more DDR2 2GB RAM sticks, but I can't guarantee that they'll work and improve your performance in Fallout. I don't know much about Fallout games on PC because I am a massive fan of them on console.

Well upgrading your RAM can help I would suggest getting 8GB of Corsair vengeance ram if you only have 2 slots. The ram might come set to 1333MHZ but you can set it up to 1600MHZ in the bios.
Also getting a graphics card can really help since you are still using the integrated one.
I would recommend looking at these brands for graphics
AMD
EVGA
Asus
Gigabyte
MSI
XFX
Hope this helps

The whole system is old and its probably due to the fact you have integrated graphics with a pathetic amount of shared graphics memory.
Its probably time to think about getting a new one and putting the money you were thinking about spending on RAM into a pot for a new custom build.

Omg just saw the pics, i have no words for it.
Use a air compressor to clean that PC, compressed air cans just wouldn't do the job.
Get safety glasses and a medical mask, or that dust will kill you.
Then bother about upgrade/selling.
