I love my Xbox One but whenever I look at it, it does not remind me of a console. Anyone else feel this way?

I really like the design. I prefer it over the rhombus that is the PS4. I think they made it big as a just-in-case for overheating issues. They probably didn't want a replay of the Xbox 360's red ring of death, so they made it bigger. Just my opinion on why it is that big. I don't know their official reasoning though.

Personally a "look" doesn't define a console for me. It's the fact that it runs games and apps and other entertainment. I love the fact that the Xbox One is large. No over heating issues.
PS4 is rather smaller with the power supply built in which produces a lot of heat. IMO that is a huge design flaw.
