does anyone know if its possible to get around the 12month contract thing on an xbox?

i.e- one of my friends bought an xbox with the 12 month contract where its like 14.99 a month, and didnt pay now it just boots to a screen that says he hasnt paid and caqn either turn the console off or pay.

Has he just bought it so it has 12 months remaining xbl ?
And do you mean he is renting the xbox for 14.99 a month, because xbl is only 40 gbp a year.

you could try taking the wifi out so that it cant connect to live when booting up
