Sorry to hear this. A good reason why I keep my dogs/cat inside at all times though.

I always watched him. Parents fault. But good, keep an eye on them.

Solution: keep your dog on a leash more if you live near busy main roads. Problem solved

That sucks, sorry to hear that. It is hard when we get connected to an animal and they have to go because we all know that odds are, we will live longer than them. I know it sucks but you can look at it in a different light. At least you didn't see him in the pain my lab is in. He has weekly seizures, can't jump, going blind, the list goes on and on. We just don't have the heart to put him down because most of the time he seems happy even though we see his suffering. Unfortunately your dogs life probably got cut a little short, but you aren't faced with the bad decision that we are with our lab.

I wish we could train our dogs not to go on the roads lol. Everyone knows if your dog wasn't on the road it wouldn't have gotten hit (not saying it's anyone's fault). I tried to train my dogs to stay off the road but then it's like you can't walk them because you always walk on the road so it's almost impossible. Unfortunately it's one of those things that happen every day and almost cannot be avoided.
