People shouldn't complain. If someone had the speed to snag 5 OG tags before you can even get 1..Lol.

People will complain about anything these days. 'They released those for everyone! You can't take more than one!' > I'd like to see the rules for that. Microsoft did this for fun, I bet. They love watching the Forums blow up as people boast of their claims and as others rage about the lose they had within their grasp and still managed to lose.

As I said somewhere else on the site earlier on, I honestly do not understand why people buy these 'og tags'. I see a gamertag as a gamertag, my name online. I don't care if it's joshmctrollin or M40A3 but cmon man, £40+ for tags. Stuff that.

This whole gamertag situation is ridiculous if you ask me. First off having an og gamertag doesn't make YOU an og lol. Second off half these "og's" are meaning less three letter tags. If its not something universally recognized then its kind of pointless. Like yea I got a og HWQ, like well wtf does it stand for, oh nothing its just a three letter tag lol. Your gamertag is supposed to be something personal not something to impress other people. I've had my gt since Xbox 360 came out and I'd never pay Microsoft $10 to change it, because it means something to me. For instance Major Nelson, Major Nelson was a character off of I love Lucy. I'm sure he chose that tag for a reason other than, woo maybe now people will think I'm cool because of my gamertag. The hype is real tho

It's just how it is really, someone bound to get mad at something small. Selling tags is okay I have nothing against it unless I get scammed or something then that would be a different matter. What I am against is people that sell crap tags and they think it's a good tag[s]

I laugh at the skids who will be banned for selling GT's

Yes, you can get banned.

MS can easily track when a tag goes on a different IP address.

Also stated in the TOS.

I don't really know - for the most part, everybody has equal opportunity at claiming the gamertags unless they are turboing.

If it is your gamertag, you have the right to do what you want with it as long as it complies with Microsoft ToS.

The people that are complaining are the ones who wanted the tag.

Yin wrote It's a rude thing to do. Name changes already cost money. I shouldn't need to spend more just because someone decides they want to abuse the system to make some money. (I say abuse since I believe you can get banned for selling tags.) I only have one account. I would have to pay for the account with the tag and spend money to change both tags if I want it on my account? I feel name changes already cost a bit too much. The one tag I wanted was taken by someone with over three hundred thousand gamerscore. While bummed I didn't get the name, I am fine that someone got it that seems they would enjoy it. If someone took it just to make money off of, I feel I should have the right to feel a little irritated by it. I'm someone who despises people that buy limited editions of something and sell them at higher prices. It's just gross. I would almost classify it as a scam.

Hmm, you despise people who buy limited edition items and make profit. You dislike business then? It's the way the world works...

I'm not fussed, I got annoyed cause Microsoft locked my account due to a security update on there that I couldn't take the tag with my initials (DJF). Other than that I'm not fussed 'cause I got some decent ones.

I think the word that would describe it is "profiteering." A business usually sells at a retail price just as every other place does. If the individual bought the items from the company and sold them at or around retail just as stores do, I wouldn't have an issue with them making profit. That isn't what they are doing though. They are unneeded, extra middlemen that are raising the price (usually) significantly for big profit.

Because the gamertag market has not been this destroyed in years.
The deflation of tags right now is insane because of the reset. So many people who had them before the reset are heated because their tag is worth like 1/3 of the value that it was a week ago.
