Much better players than me on here so I will let them tell you about playing but I will say some stuff about skins. At some point you may get into cs and want some. If so I would recommend you save your money for items you want instead of trying to unbox anything. This will save you a ton of money. A youtuber/streamer that goes by Mrtweeday did a case unboxing until he got a knife. Took him over 750 cases. If you plan on buying skins and are over 18 you should check out a opskins. Skins sell for a lot cheaper than market and it's safe. Hope you enjoy your time on cs.

WASD to move left click to shoot, right click.. not to aim. lolol jk, definitely learn spray patterns and how to move your mouse accordingly to control it. (Ak, M4, especially as these are the main guns you will be buying. Then learn some strats and calls, and start using your head to mentally f*** the enemy. (MGE approved ;), I was a supreme before the rank shifts ;-;)

100% Sit and learn Spray patterns. Don't do it in private match with retard bots, do it in deathmatch so you have decent targets.

Play Arms Race to get used to all different guns.

Learn to tap.

Aim for the head. ALL THE TIME.

AK for power, M4A1-S for accuracy, Awp for just wrecking shi*.

Learn to tap again, I can't stress how op tapping really is.

Gaming peripherals helped me a lot.

A good PC also helps.

Like everyone else is saying, you need to pratice to get better at the game. You need to learn spray patterns and feel with almost every gun. Play on like aim maps to learn them then after you kinda get the idea, you can do much better in dm and then pratice on there. Also, I prefer getting a different crosshair than the defualt, use your own or get one that you know that is good, dont take any because they are cool or over used. Also, play on some other player made servers for retakes and comps. After the update that came out, its gonna be very weird. Also just watch some videos to get the idea!

Learn spray patterns on the AK-47, M4A1/M4A4 and P90. The rest are irrelevant to be honest.

Always aim for the head, since most guns are a one shot kill, this will give you a huge advantage.

Expect the unexpected, don't come round the corner not expecting to see someone, make sure you're expecting someone there and ready to shoot.

Pick a sensitivity between 1.8-2.4 (400DPI) nearly all professional players use this because it gives the most advantage.

And lastly, just play the game and learn what maps you like and before you go into competitive, be sure to know pop-flashes and smoke grenades for those three maps and you'll be fine!
