So im looking to purchase a new processor, Im currently running an Intel i3 3220 @ 3.30GHz. I need some suggestions on what to buy now as I want a stronger build, my budget is around £150.

I'd greatly appreciate it if the community could help me out and give me some suggestions on what to go for!

Thanks

Why do you feel you need a new CPU? What do you do on your PC?

An i5 or 1220 v2 would be the easiest upgrades for you.

PS: Those temps are false readings. As the motherboard socket temps are at 28C and the CPU is at 101C. They should be much the same temps.

For gaming you'd benefit more from a GPU upgrade honestly. The i3 is fine for gaming.

i5-3470 or something would be your best bet but you're looking for an improvement in gaming, so you should be upgrading GPU, not CPU.

You could pick up an R9 280 for about £140ish which would offer a nice improvement over that GTX 650.

Your Ivy Bridge i3 isn't going to perform much worse than current generation i5's for the most part so you're better off waiting for Zen or Skylake to upgrade CPU IMHO.
