You could get by with an i3, but an i5 is definitely worth the extra cash.

I would say 4 cores over 2 cores and other two hyperthreaded. So yeah the i5 is well worth it

Dual core hyperthreaded CPUs are probably going to be obsolete before quad cores. In fact, I even think that FC4 doesn't officially support the i3 without some sort of work around. Don't let that put you off the i3 though. i5 is the better choice, only if you have the money for it. If you're on a tighter budget, the i3 would be fine. I wouldn't suggest sacrificing other components, like GPU or anything, just to afford the extra for the i5.

No, Far Cry supports the i3 as it's seen as a quad core.

Some benchmarks where the i3/5 are identical performance wise apart from crysis 3.

I'm sure there was one game that doesn't support the i3 because it still see's it as a dual core, but I can't remember what game it is I could be wrong though

I don't know, I might have dreamed it? I was sure it was something like AW or FC4 or something, but I didn't understand how some games seen it as a quad core, and then that one other game seen it as a dual core and would refuse to run. Was probably just fake, or I imagined it

I'm using a 4150 and am able to play both of those games bb.

An i5 is probably worth it for the extra money, but if its a tight budget, an i3 is still pretty great and I'd recommend it.
