i have a r9 295x2 and a fx 8350 but i think my 8350 is holding my gpu back what would be a good cpu to pare it with

A i5 would be a good choice.

which one i'm on quite a tight budget as ive juts spent 529.99 gbp on the gpu

Unless you plan on overclocking, that's what I'd go with.

your 8350 is not holding you back, your not going to get much gains by going with a 4460. You would also have to buy a new motherboard.

Just stick with 8350 for now until intel releases there new cpus.

what you can do though is overclock the 8350 if you haven't already. If you are getting a bottleneck of the CPU, an overclock will help more than you would think.

The 8350 isn't holding you back... It's most probably the resolution you're playing at.

Unless it'd 1440p+ that's the probable cause.

it just seems to be lacking with fps on games like project cars and gta maxed out on gta it hits like 40-50fps on 1080p and project cars it locks at around 20-40fps which is shit my r9 270 gotta better or could be my ram

40-50 on GTA maxed out!
I get 60+ constantly at 1080 with a 6300 @ 4.5GHz and a 970.

Check your CPU, RAM, GPU, and disk usage in game to see what's maxed out.
