Synopsis
Join hosts SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as they take kids through an amazing new gameplay experience. The PlayStation2 EyeToy allows players to literally jump inside the videogame, where they must use their own body movements to control the action in 11 different mini-games. All the mini-games are based on popular Nickelodeon TV shows including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, Rocket Power and Danny Phantom (brand new show!), along with special cameo appearances from other Nicktoons.

Plot
Just like the movie depicts, after King Neptune finds out that his precious crown had been stolen from him, he freaks out and endlessly seeks to find out where his had been taken. Later on, Mr.Krabs notices that King Neptune is making his way towards the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs thinks he is coming to eat at his beloved restaurant. Turns out that Mr.Krab's assumption was wrong. King Neptune then questions everyone inside the Krusty Krab, where is his crown? During his questioning, a unknown voice message is left for Mr.Krabs telling him how he appreciates him for selling King Neptune's crown that had been sold in Shell City. As Mr.Krabs tries to plead to King Neptune that there had been some misunderstanding and that he never took his crown nor sold it to some person in Shell City, King Neptune decides to freeze Mr.Krabs until his precious crown is returned to him. After that, SpongeBob and Patrick then decide to set out on a quest to find and bring back Neptune's crown.

Gameplay
Similar to Battle for Bikini Bottom, players will have to progress through multiple levels that are based off of the actual movie. At the end of level, players are awarded a Goofy Goober token. When players earn enough Goober tokens, they will be able to learn new moves that they will need to perform later on in the game. Players will collect these colored variant weights which gives players manliness points. When a certain amount of manliness points is collected, players are given an upgrade point in which players can upgrade their character's health or enhance their attack moves to make them more powerful. The manliness points meter will increase after each upgrade point is achieved, making it more of a challenge to get another upgrade point. Players will encounter enemies which really feature the same attacks just like in Battle for Bikini Bottom. The only difference really is that the enemies aren't robots and the weapons looked totally different. Depending on how difficult the enemy is, the greater amount of manliness points are awarded for killing them. Players will see these holographic looking Krabby Patties laying around the map, collecting these will replenish your health. Along the way in completing a level, players come upon challenges which in some cases are unique to certain characters, which only that particular character can participate in the challenge. Some of these challenges are battle arena challenges in which players have to successfully defeat 3 waves of enemies. Another challenge is the guitar challenge, exclusively for SpongeBob. This challenge will require the player to navigate a guitar through a course of rings. By successfully completing these challenges, players are rewarded Goofy Goober tokens which will get the characters to learn new moves quicker. At certain parts in the game, players will face a boss which happens to be certain characters in the movie, such as the Ice Cream Lady and Dennis.

Graphics
Substantially, back then the graphics were fantastic during that time. Every notable character looked amazing to as how they look in the movie. Most of the details and characteristics were spot on and had great quality. The details around the levels were nicely textured and had that clean pristine quality that looked surreal to the player's eye. The eye movements of the characters had great fluidity. The enemies in the game had their own set of characteristics so there was a strong sense of variety amongst the enemies. The characters had fluid movement in their arms and pieces of clothing hanging off as it would flow in the air of the direction the player is moving. A great amount of detail is well noticeable on many buildings and structures in the game such as the windows with the little bolts drilled into them to hold them in place. The line details on the building indicating the next floor above the one below it. The pieces of coral, seaweed, and other water plant life would also flow as if water was moving in the same direction.

Controls
Like most adventure style games back then, the controls were nothing unique and pretty much were the typical control layout like most games. The controls are also pretty similar to Battle for Bikini Bottom. The basic attack functions were nothing too fancy. Pretty much, the control functions from Battle for Bikini Bottom were transferred onto here so for the players that had played Battle for Bikini Bottom, the controls are really nothing new to the experienced players that had previously played the first console based SpongeBob game. A game like this with the controls setup should really be easy for players that are like five or six years old especially for those that really enjoyed the movie. Overall, the controls for me personally were really easy to get the hang of since the controls were very similar to the previous game, Battle for Bikini Bottom. So for those that hadn't played the previous SpongeBob console game, the controls could take time to fully understand. Early in the game, little messages will pop indicating the player how to use certain abilities and moves.
