As other users suggest, it really depends on what you're purchasing your monitor for.

If it is gaming, I strongly recommend BenQ. They are the leading brand in gaming monitors and owning one myself, I can definitely say it was worth the price.

If it's for Gaming get a Benq or an Asus. Depending if you care if its 60hz or 120/144hz then the pricing shouldn't really steep too high unless you want 120hz+

seconded, BenQ is amazing. I would recommend that over just about everything else.

I have a Asus monitor and i think it works just fine. Very clear.
