Xbox LIVE Have a new feature where if you change your GT, No one can take the name you previously had. Only the account that previously had that GT can change it back to it. So the selling/swapping gamertags can finally stop.

The following 2 users thanked WarhawKz for this useful post:

Try it with free accounts. The account would not be able to change the gamertag to an available that that someone previously had. Its been tested by me and friends. I do not thinK they announced this. It was just discovered.

My friend even changed his GT and we tried to take it for a week. It wouldnt work. But he was able to change it back himself a week later. I see microsoft is getting more secure due to the hacking "OG TAGS"

that's not true.
I'm creatin' almost every week a new account, then I change the GT of the old one just to use it on the new account again ( there is no sense, I know...)

I'm pretty sure that you talked to MS support about something like that and you ended up on this, the only difference is that MS would say that once you changed your GT, nobody can pick this one again, but that's also not true so please tell the truth next time...

I did not contact microsoft. You do not know what you are talking about. Get off my post, you are just here to troll. You are a new user with no reputation. Hop off. And you are talking about weeks ago. I am talking about now. Since the System Update. But you know everything so everyone listen to this guy. He knows everything.

Are you sure? Even with the new update? It sounds too good to be true...

I would love for this to be true, if you have any sources for proof that'd be great.

Yes even with the new update. My friend just did it and also nothing about this was mentioned on the update or by anybody that would announce this kind of news.
