I think evolution may even backtrack slightly. As technology progresses, us humans get more and more used to using it until it eventually becomes something that 'you can't live without'. To demonstrate this example, I will use the Disney film 'Wall-E', in the film, there is a spaceship that is home to thousands of people, you see that each one of these people depend on hover-chairs, this is because the technology has become available and people use technology to make their own lives easier, therefore the technology used becomes the norm and completely acceptable. As technology advances there will be more things introduced that 'make our lives easier' but in turn, reduce the amount of evolving that we humans need to do because the technology is doing it for us.

Sorry if any of that didn't make any sense, Dyslexia is a b**ch.

Made complete sense, and I agree.
Evolution changes according to the needs of the species to adapt.
If we end up going around in electric wheelchairs 24/7 then eventually our legs would become obsolete.
I don't know how evolution would deal with that, maybe we would just lose our legs eventually.

Then again, the argument could be made that evolution would have a huge affect on the ways in which technology affects our bodies, meaning that it will have an effect whether we advance technologically or not.
I completely agree about adapting to the surroundings and necessities of humans.

Humans (or what was evolving at the time) used to have tails and after time our we adapted to their new environment and needs due to technology and I use that in term of the wheel or other historical inventions such as clothing, we lost excessive hair growth unlike other animals because we have clothing.

What happens if technology advances much quicker then we do in the next 10,000 years, could we be overthrown?

Technology has always advanced the human race. From bow and arrows to laptops it has helped us to increase our knowledge and improve ourselves. It will always be apart of our lives. As long as we use it right we will benefit from it. If we abuse it or use it in the wrong way it will destroy us. Think Matrix and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
