I'm talking about the YouTube player. It's been crap for the past couple of years, but now it's just the worst. The comments section is horrible, but that's a whole different story. First off, random videos play in HTML5 on Google Chrome, but in no over browser. HTML5 is horrible, buggy, laggy. If I have Flash installed, why not just play in Flash?

Second, video quality. If I leave the video, after a minute, it will go to 144p (1/10 videos go to 1080p, 2/10 stay at 360p). If I try to change the quality of the video, the cog in the bottom right of the video will just spin and spin and spin. I can wait ages for the quality to change, or I can just seek the video (click on the progress bar). This will just freeze and cause me to refresh the page, or will work on 1/10 videos.

Third and finally, when you try to fast forward or seek the video, YouTube loses your download buffer and immediately starts to re-buffer. YouTube does not load when paused, and it does not load as fast as it should do. After about 45 seconds past the video length, the loading time is very limited. And before you say it, it's not my internet, I don't have the best internet, but it's much more than enough to stream YouTube in 1080p.

Yea I agree, another thing I seem to get is a video will start with a black screen / no audio then freeze at 0:02.

Have you checked that you're not using this? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Edit: It says some videos will play using HTML 5 with supported browsers (I suppose Chrome).

It might help a little to make sure your not forcing it on every video (Click the blue button).
