Xbox Will Start Deleting Old Game Captures On May 30

If you're an Xbox user, or even regularly used one in the past, then you may want to dive into your capture gallery and back up any special gaming moments you may have screenshot or recorded during your time with the system. This is because Xbox seems to be rolling out a new policy next month in which captures that are over 90 days old will be deleted from your system automatically.

According to a post on the Xbox subreddit by user Volcaandsora (thanks Game Rant), Xbox has started sending out notifications to players warning them of the incoming changes. While there seems to be some confusion surrounding the policy, as Xbox had previously stated that captures would be deleted in January, its introduction now seems to have been pushed back to May 30, giving you a little more time to back up your precious memories.

NOTE TO ALL XBOX USERS

Once May 30 rolls around, every single video or screenshot that has been captured and stored on the Xbox Network that is older than 90 days will be automatically deleted, as Xbox is more than likely attempting to free up server space. This includes screenshots and recordings that are stored both internally and via the cloud, but thankfully, it's fairly easy to back up any media files you want to keep.
