Halo 5 main character is Agent Locke, says actor

The star of upcoming TV series Halo: Nightfall claims his character Agent Locke will be the main protagonist in Halo 5: Guardians, rather than Master Chief.

In an interview in X-One magazine (subsequently posted on Reddit), actor Mike Colter - who plays Agent Locke in the TV series - says he is the star of Halo 5.

"Yeah, I'm a playable character in Halo 5," he claims. "Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character.

"I'll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I'll be a Spartan IV."

While Colter didn't give any further information on how much of the game is spent controlling Agent Locke, he did also give some hints that suggested at least part of the campaign involves searching for Master Chief.

"What's not known, is whether I'm a friend or foe," he teased. "The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting. Because what's the outcome?

"Is he dead or alive? Because that's usually what a manhunt comes down to, dead or alive, but you won't know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away].

"Or what will happen if we do find him, what condition he will be in, and where he's at mentally. But I'm sure that'll be a plot twist in Halo 5."

Agent Locke was revealed in June as the main character in upcoming live-action series Halo Nightfall.

Episodes of the series will feature on the Halo Channel, an "all-new interactive digital network" for Xbox One and PC which lets users watch original content, explore the Halo universe and join up with friends.

This will be pretty different. I liked playing as Master Chief in Halo 4 but this will be a change. Hopefully a good one.

Sanctyy Don't even have to watch the trailer to know I'd hate this game. I've never enjoyed a Halo game and I've played the majority of them. I don't really see what the attraction is.


Same here, they don't interest me at all, compared to games Like COD and Battlefield they just don't look as good to me.

Halo 4 was an incredibly fun Halo, my favorite, and I am awaiting the release of Halo 5.

Kurumu God damn it 343, I buy halo to play as master chief not some stupid mother **** boasting about some role I couldn't give two ***** about.


Simple solution: Don't play it.

xXxFall3nH3ro "The Master Chief is still the main character and focus of the game according to Frank O' Connor. Agent Locke will be the equivalent of Halo 2's Arbiter missions. Don't worry about your favorite spartan being retired people :)"

Hope what xXxFall3nH3ro said was true and Master Chief is still the main focus of the game. It would suck to see someone else as the main character.
