Nintendo Switch 2 Could Ship Over 10 Million Units in Initial Year

Following his report on Bloomberg about the Nintendo Switch 2, reporter Takashi Mochizuki indicated on Twitter that the company could develop +10 million units of the console year for its initial fiscal year.

Cited display shipment data also suggests it would be “much easier to find at stores” compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, which initially faced chip shortages. Interestingly, regarding an OLED version of the console, analyst firm Omdia believes it won’t be “for this year.”

Omdia analyst Hiroshi Hayase revealed in the initial report that the Nintendo Switch 2 could have an eight-inch LCD screen. The original Switch has a 6.2-inch LCD screen, while the Switch OLED has a 7-inch OLED panel. Nintendo hasn’t officially announced the platform, but rumors have begun building over the past year, indicating two SKUs (including an all-digital model for $399) and a potential launch on September 24th or November 3rd.

Leaker @MbKKssTBhz5 also reported recently that Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio are in development for Nintendo Switch 2 instead of the current hardware. Stay tuned for more details and potential announcements in the coming months.
