The release of The Day Before was one of the most controversial gaming stories of last year. Back in December, it was announced by publisher Mytona that servers for The Day Before would officially close on January 22, 2024, and that day has now come. Since its reveal back in 2021, The Day Before garnered a lot of speculation and hype from many who were intrigued if the game was legit, and that road has officially come to an end.

The Day Before's nearly countless controversies through the years caused many gamers to question the game's legitimacy, and all was finally revealed in early December 2023. Before the game even launched, there were many allegations of The Day Before ripping off other games and critiques about the developer's possible use of volunteers instead of paid workers. When the game finally launched, many players were welcomed to a series of bugs and empty environments that didn't deliver on the promises Fntastic continuously gave throughout the game's development.
It has been an incredibly rocky road for The Day Before, and its story will go down in gaming history, just not in the way Fntastic was probably hoping for. However, for players who are still interested in the game, there have been recent attempts at making an unofficial offline version of The Day Before that may eventually see the light of day. Until then, it looks like this is officially the end of The Day Before's long and turbulent journey.
