A Neowiz job listing has suggested that Lies of P 2, or whatever the sequel to 2023's Lies of P ends up being called, will be built using Unreal Engine 5. The original Lies of P was a surprise hit in 2023, with the Soulslike earning a great deal of praise from critics and finding itself nominated for multiple awards at The Game Awards 2023.

Lies of P was nominated for Best Art Direction and Best Role Playing Game at The Game Awards 2023, but ultimately lost to Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3, respectively. Regardless, there's no denying how impressive it is that Lies of P was nominated in the first place, as the game launched as a brand-new IP from an unproven studio in the midst of the fall gaming rush and has come out the other end as one of 2023's most-talked about new games.

Many are excited to see what the future holds for Lies of P. In the more immediate future, Lies of P DLC is in the works, and fans also have an eventual sequel to look forward to as well. It will likely be years before fans learn more concrete details about the Lies of P sequel, but a recent job listing does suggest that it will be leaving Unreal Engine 4 behind in favor of Unreal Engine 5. This was discovered by Resetera user Erok and shared on Twitter by Idle Sloth.

Lies of P's graphics earned near-universal praise, so the idea that the sequel is moving to Unreal Engine 5 is extremely exciting. The Lies of P sequel will almost certainly be exclusive to newer hardware as well, whereas the original was a cross-gen release, which means that the developers should be able to push the visuals further than ever before. Whenever the Lies of P sequel is properly revealed, it will be exciting to see how it turns out.

Fans have already gotten some hints about what the Lies of P sequel will be about from a narrative standpoint. Whereas the first Lies of P is about Pinocchio, it's been teased that the sequel will take inspiration from other fairytales. Soulslike fans will simply have to wait and see what form Lies of P 2 takes.
