Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth DLC is Currently Not Planned

3.3
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has had many details revealed over the past week or so, from the reveal of Junon and The Grasslands to the sheer amount of content in the upcoming RPG. The developer also clarified that Vincent Valentine, who appeared in the State of Play trailer, would not be playable.

Fans hoping he will be or expecting more content after launch with DLC like Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’s Episode INTERmission may be disappointed. Speaking to Vandal (translation via DeepL), creative director Tetsuya Nomura revealed, “We are not planning any DLC for this installment.”

Of course, plans could change down the line. Final Fantasy 16 had no plans for DLC, which changed to the development team “considering” the same if feedback was positive and then announcing two paid DLC installments. Given the relative size and scope of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it may be less likely, but as always, time will tell. It’s out on February 29th, 2024, for PS5, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
