Baldur’s Gate 3 Cross-Platform Multiplayer is in the Works

4.3
Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios is available today for PS5, having launched successfully on PC. It supports split-screen co-op and cross-platform saves, which extends to the Xbox Series X/S version when it launches later this year. However, Larian has confirmed that cross-platform multiplayer is also in the works.

Speaking to Eurogamer, director of publishing Michael Douse said the studio intended to add crossplay but couldn’t do so before launch. “It was always in the planning, but we knew it wouldn’t be for launch. It’s in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”

The developer previously said it would “see about crossplay post-launch,” so it’s good to have some confirmation. How long it could take remains to be seen, especially since it’s busy expanding on Origin Character epilogues (with Karlach recently getting a new ending) and improving performance in Act 3.
