Yuka Kitamura, the composer who worked on Elden Ring, Bloodborne, and more FromSoftware games, has announced she’s leaving the company.

Kitamura confirmed her departure on Twitter writing: “Today I have an announcement to make. I have decided to leave FromSoftware, the company I worked for, and to start working as a freelance composer in August.”

Kitamura joined FromSoftware in 2013, starting her stint at the company by working on Armored Core: Verdict Day.

She would then go on to work on Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Deracine, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring. It’s unclear if she provided music for FromSoftware’s upcoming game, Armored Core 6.

Elden Ring‘s first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, was announced in February, but a release date and further details have yet to be confirmed.

Elden Ring published Bandai Namco has recently launched a YouTube channel featuring the music of several FromSoftware titles.

“Music is one of the core components that can turn a videogame into an epic journey that will live on in the memories of players forever,” said Anthony Macaré, chief marketing and sales officer at Bandai Namco Europe.

“Opening this Game Music channel is how we get to share the most memorable soundtracks from our games with the greatest number and expand our IPs outside of the videogame world. We wanted our fans to be able to bring those adventures into their daily lives and discover new stories.”
