Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now play day one game Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 for nothing more than what they pay for their subscription. Xbox Game Pass subscribers are treated to new games on a regular basis, with Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 just the latest game added to the service this week.

Xbox Game Pass has had a busy week. On May 8, Xbox Game Pass was updated to add Weird West: Definitive Edition for Xbox Series X gamers to try, while PC Game Pass was treated to Shadowrun Trilogy. Neither of those games were "day one" releases, however, and so that makes the new Xbox Game Pass game for May 11 a little more exciting.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is a turn-based tactical RPG and the sequel to 2021's Fuga: Melodies of Steel. Unfortunately, there aren't many Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 reviews to check out just yet, but the original game earned mostly positive reviews so it's a safe bet that the sequel will likely have a similar reception. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 being a day one Xbox Game Pass game means that there's no risk to subscribers checking it out since they can play through the whole game without actually buying it. The game is available to play on consoles, PC, and the cloud, so Xbox Game Pass subscribers have a lot of options when it comes to playing Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2.



While Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is the direct sequel to Fuga: Melodies of Steel, the two games are actually both part of a larger, though not necessarily well-known, franchise. The two games are part of the Little Tail Bronx series, which originated with the PS1's Tail Concerto. Tail Concerto was followed up by Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, which was originally released for the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2010 before making its way to other regions in 2011.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have even more games to look forward to later in May. Horror game Amnesia: The Bunker is coming on May 23, while the console version of the critically-acclaimed Cassette Beasts is releasing May 25. Railway Empire 2 is coming on May 25 as well, while Farworld Pioneers is releasing on Game Pass on May 30. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also be able to play FIFA 23 come May 16 thanks to it including access to the EA Play library of games.
