The mod is completely free, and you can download it via this link. This is the biggest update that has been released for NoVR mod so far, but the work on the mod isn't done yet as the developers are working on some other tweaks to make all gameplay mechanics fully functional in non-VR mode.
With this new update, Gravity Gloves are functional in non-VR mode and players can grab any object at any distance by pressing a single button. Also, players can now open all cabinets, cranks, and doors. Even wooden planks that used to block passages and doorways can now be broken. This makes the entire campaign playable without the need for cheats.
That being said, the developer points out that players might face some bugs during the run of play. According to modders, a restart could resolve most bugs, but players are being advised to report them as it can help modders polish the experience much faster.
From all 42 achievements, the NoVR mod allows players to unlock 33 of them, with the remaining achievements to be enabled by the end of this year. Also, the modders are working on more weapon upgrades as well as smoothing out the animations. Currently, there are three upgrades available for each weapon, but they will receive more tuning and balance in future updates. Modders are also trying to find a way to apply the official Half-Life: Alyx mods in the Steam Workshop to work properly in the non-VR version as well. The new update has already unlocked a number of Workshop mods, including Levitation, Extra-Ordinary Value, Belomorskaya Station, and Overcharge.
NoVR version 1.00 is expected to be released sometime in 2023. Valve itself has not revealed any plans for delivering an official non-VR port of the game, but the company doesn't hold any barriers against developers who are working on non-VR mods.
