Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Confirms Coruscant As Playable Planet

3.6
Electronic Arts has released the final trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ahead of launch, showing off Cal Kestis heading to Coruscant to progress in the story. Director Stig Asmussen has also revealed Coruscant to be a destination for players, though it will probably not be a fully explorable open world.

The final gameplay trailer for the upcoming action game showcases Cal Kestis' proficiency with lightsaber before giving a peek at Coruscant. Not long before that, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor director Stig Asmussen confirmed the inclusion of Coruscant during Star Wars Celebrations 2023. However, we don't yet know how much we'll be seeing of the classic Star Wars location and how much of it we'll actually be able to explore. Though Asmussen has not yet revealed the role of Coruscant, the confirmation has been enough for players to raise their expectations. "We're taking our Metroidvania approach a step further and, just to talk about another planet, we're going to have Coruscant as well," Amussen said. "I think there's been a lot of speculation on that, and [I'm] just confirming it here."

Shortly after the confirmation, Electronic Arts' Andy McNamara outlined via Twitter that Coruscant has not been confirmed as an open-world area. "To be clear, Stig never claimed Coruscant was a 'freely explorable open world. He only confirmed it as one of the destinations in the game. Survivor has amazing planets to explore and our biggest environments to date, but wanted to be clear on what was said."

While it seemed like McNamara was trying to walk back Asmussen's comment, it is worth noting that Coruscant also hasn't yet been confirmed to be a limited destination. There remains the possibility that it will be just as open and explorable an area as other planets. Players won't have to wait too long to find out the scale of Coruscant, as the game launches later this month.

More details about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are surfacing ahead of the game's April 28 launch. Players shouldn't have too many questions regarding the game, as the developers have been forthcoming with information on its main features. The inclusion of Coruscant may be exciting for fans, but the game also features a bunch of other explorable planets where players will come across new enemies and allies.

as long they have all the planets playable, the game will be great

The first game was fantastic although a little short for my liking. Hopefully, this will destroy my expectations. Although, it is EA so I won't get my hopes up.
